LONDON – Ask Jeeves's homepage will be taken over by Team Green Britain – EDF Energy's landmark sustainability initiative - in the IAC-owned site's first ever homepage partnership deal brokered by MPG. The Team Green Britain takeover on July 10th will coincide with the launch of Green Britain Day, an annual event designed to inspire the nation to work together to take action and lower Britain's carbon footprint. ![]() The initiative, launched by EDF Energy, is encouraging people, including schools around Britain, to 'do something green for the team' on Green Britain Day, creating a wave of tangible action across Britain. People are invited to join Team Green Britain (teamgreenbritain.org), a community aimed at harnessing the power of collective action. Developed in association with the Eden Project, the website suggests new actions to take on Green Britain Day. To mark the occasion, Jeeves will appear in a suit emblazoned with the symbol of Green Britain Day - a green union flag - and the highly popular Jeeves Question of the Day feature will relate to making Britain greener. As well as the homepage takeover, EDF Energy will benefit from a specially created Jeeves Green Britain Day landing page which encourages users to join Team Green Britain and download a Jeeves skin with the green union flag. The deal is a first of its kind for Ask Jeeves which recently brought back Jeeves as the face of the site following user demand. Sarah Bartlett, Marketing Director of Ask Jeeves said, "We are thrilled to support the Green Britain Day initiative and I think you can see from the results how the Jeeves character really enhances the partnership. We think that the green Union Jack suit that Jeeves is wearing will really make our users smile and hopefully get them interested in Green Britain Day". "I think this is a great case study on how Jeeves can add personality and human interest." Martin Stead, Brand Director at EDF Energy, added: "It's our ambition that Team Green Britain will rally the nation to come together and take actions that will lower Britain's carbon footprint; we want to give people the inspiration, knowledge and support they need to change today for a lower carbon tomorrow."
