Senior Product Manager

Location: London, UK

Ask.com is seeking a passionate, focused, and creative individual to successfully manage complex search and vertical products, as part of the innovative, close-knit and fast-moving UK team. The ideal candidate will be driven and committed to delivering products and features that provide our users with the best user experience. The selected candidate will create and deliver new innovative UK-specific products, localise appropriate US-based products, and provide persuasive input on other global initiatives. This position will also assume ownership of locale-specific product partnerships for a given set of products. This position is based in our London office.


Requirements:


  • Strong product management and product development background in the Search space: Ideal candidate has had project management and development leadership experience before transitioning into a product management role.
  • Successful track record in leading cross-functional teams, such as engineering, QA, marketing, customer support, business development and external partners through the product life cycle.
  • Successful track record in launching differentiated search and web products and features.
  • Proven ability to prioritise development pipeline and maximise market opportunities.
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills and understanding of search business metrics, such as frequency, retention, etc.
  • Strong understanding of search markets and industry.
  • Experience in social networking and community products, and mobile products.
  • Strong consumer orientation.
  • Excellent communication skills to manage products with geographically dispersed teams.

Senior UI Designer

Location: London, UK

Ask.com is looking for a creative and design leader for the UK to drive the UI of the fast-moving site where Jeeves personality is integral. Best candidate will thrive in an environment where big challenges are big fun, inspiration can come from anywhere, and the team is small and entrepreneurial. Ask.com allows for many creative expansions/ideas but remains clean and professional.


Duties/responsibilities will include projects such as:


a) Large site redesigns.

b) Conceptualizing and creating significant new products – working within some design guidelines but pushing the creative look and feel boundaries in others.

c) Beautiful and effective home page takeovers including promotional ads.

d) Creative direction with 3rd parties for outsourced work and ad agencies.


Successful candidate will enjoy wearing many hats – from executive management to tweaking shadows on a Jeeves image for the homepage. We are a small team that does what it takes to get the best product to our customers.


Skillset:


  • Substantial creative experience with significant responsibility in consumer-based internet industry with large scale websites (i.e. don't apply if you are doing banner ads for a large website).
  • Experience in managing complete redesigns of significant websites resulting in tangible benefits.
  • Expert skill in Photoshop. Proficient in Illustrator.
  • Must have solid working knowledge of HTML/CSS to generate production assets.
  • Demonstrate design craftsmanship and pixel precision.
  • Must have a firm grasp of prevalent UI design patterns.
  • Work related to social media identity (e.g. coordination of look/feel of quizzes on FB, photos twitter, twitter background, etc).
  • Ability to work odd hours to accommodate team in London and Oakland, California. Huge plus – ability to create/design in Flash.

Junior Accountant

Location: Dublin

Key Responsibilities:


  • Purchasing: Ensuring all PO's raised have required approval prior to processing. Process PO's through Oracle for Finance approval.
  • Accounts payable: Matching all invoices against raised PO's, ensure all invoices have an approved PO before processing through Oracle. Prepare monthly payment runs.
  • Suppliers: Dealing directly with suppliers to resolve any queries.
  • Cash: Monitoring cash balances daily and deal directly with the bank for any queries. Set up monthly supplier payments for approval.
  • Month end responsibilities: e.g. Creating journals, Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Travel: Regular travel to the UK may be required.
  • Ad hoc duties.

Key Attributes:


  • A minimum of two years experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Previous knowledge/experience of accounting software packages such as Oracle.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines.
  • Self- starter who is willing to work under little supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Flexible approach and a good team player.
  • Rigor and attention to detail.
  • Highly organised.

Social Media and PR Manager


Job Description:


Ask Jeeves is seeking a Social Media and PR Manager to join its team based in the Head Office in London to devise and implement strategies which enhance Ask.com's reputation; developing and managing PR and social media campaigns for major launches and events; and contributing to the day-to-day running of the press office including proactive and reactive media relations. There will also be a focus on internal communications.


Able to work at internet-speed, you will have a track record of delivery on major campaigns, a high level of creativity and imagination in coming up with stories and "selling stories in" to the full range of media. Experience in the UK online market would be beneficial.

Responsibilities


Using the site and its features to generate a steady stream of strategic and tactical PR and social media ideas.


  • Proactive and reactive media relations as part of the press office.
  • Planning and implementing a social media programme.
